As soon as we finished the hike, we all took showers in the RV. I took the kids over to the Visitor's Center to get their Jr. Ranger badges. They took the oath and we boarded the Leprechaun. I decided to drive while Karen and the kids slept.
We had originally planned to go to the Hoover Dam and Las Vegas on our way to the North Rim. After our hike, we felt we had thoroughly experienced the Grand Canyon. We wanted to see southern Utah. We had a choice: 12 hours via Las Vegas or 5 hours via Page, AZ. We reached a quorum on the shorter driving distance and I captained the RV to our next checkpoint.
We made it to Page, AZ and stopped in a Wal*Mart parking lot. I needed to study the refrigerator issues and do some research online. We also needed supplies, an internet connection, and some recovery time. Monday would be laundry day. Time for maintenance and recovery before our travels to Bryce and Zion.
Frig was fixed, and we caught our breath. With the shades pulled down, we could've been anywhere.
That was until early the next morning. The sound of a busy parking lot Zamboni at 5:30am interrupted our sleeping bliss as it vacuumed the parking aisles.
I considered dumping the RV's "black water" and really giving him something to clean up.
