Rio Grande Gorge
After Taos, we stopped at the bridge that spans the Rio Grande Gorge. The canyon was carved by years of the unyielding river; water wins again.
Stationed in the parking area was a converted old Bluebird bus, now in service as a food truck. Food trucks are all the rage in Charlotte, but they've been popular west of the Mississippi for years. Perfect for an afternoon treat for the kids!
First mistake of the trip:
Just past the gorge was the Earth Ship community. I wish we would have stopped. There are 40-50 homes in various stages of development. Very creative use of recycled materials and innovative heating and cooling techniques.
