Drive to Yellowstone

The drive from Jensen UT to Jackson WY was a long, laborious journey.  There was the high school National Rodeo Championships in Rock Springs, WY.  Cowboys and horse trailers everywhere!   We crossed the famous Oregon Trail in Wyoming and I was starting to feel like our trek wouldn't end.
We finally pulled into Jackson WY and started to get excited about nearing Yellowstone.  The only problem:  our camping spot at Canyon Junction, inside the park, was another 100 miles (3 hrs at Park speeds through Grand Teton and Yellowstone).

It was very cloudy and we really couldn't enjoy the grandeur afforded by the majestic Teton range.
Luckily, we started to see wildlife.  While that added to our time, it made the long trip more enjoyable for everyone.

Pronghorn

About 10 miles from our camping site, we thought Whitney was responsible for another of his "secrets" with the windows buttoned up.  Turns out, for once, he was innocent.  The mud pots and gurgling hot springs bordering the road were the culprits, fouling the air with their sulphuric perfume.
We arrived at our reserved campsite at 8:00pm, just in time for a small fire.  This was our first chance on the trip for a campfire, so a long day in the car was not going to deter us, no sir!
