We drove through the charming town of Chama, NM, and along several miles of the narrow-gauge Cumbres and Toltec railroad that still functions. The coal-fired locomotive was blowing a giant grey plume into the morning air as we drove through the quaint downtown. The guy that works on my 1967 VW in Charlotte is from Chama, so I was paying extra attention.
While Karen was trying to troubleshoot her iPad hotspot issues in Dolce, NM (turns out Verizon doesn't cover all metro areas in northern NM), the kids got a kick out of watching an active field of prairie dogs.
