Santa Fe

Met up with Laurel and Bill.  I hadn't seen Laurel since our days at Davidson.  We met them at The Shed for dinner.  The Shed is a short block from the cathedral in downtown Santa Fe.  Started in the 1950's, it won a James Beard award some years ago for authentic Southwest cuisine. Laurel and Bill really know their local foods, and I went with the blue corn enchiladas in the recommended red sauce.  Yum!

We parked the Paddy Wagon at their adorable adobe house in the outskirts of Santa Fe with breathtaking views of the Sandia Mountains.

Bill is an expert in all things related to spirits.  He makes his own bitters, and we saw several batches in various stages of development.  While the kids went to bed, Karen and I sat on the back patio area and drank a delicious local beer and some of Bill's favorite mezcal.

The next morning, we left their place with great memories and a huge sack of home-made chocolate chip and pecan cookies.  Oh yeah!
